What is the TAPP 1 water filter?

You deserve great tasting and clean water from the tap in an affordable and sustainable way. That is why we created TAPP 1.

What is TAPP 1?

TAPP 1 is a water filter that is easy to install and use. It can be installed on the kitchen faucet in less than a minute and without any tools. A little switch makes it easy to change between filtered and unfiltered water (e.g. for dishes).

How efficient is the TAPP 1 water filter?

TAPP 1 uses granular activated carbon (GAC), one of the most reliable filtering technologies, to filter out the smell and taste of chlorine as well as other contaminants, such as pesticides and some heavy metals. The activated carbon in TAPP 1 is composed 100% of organic coconut shells, which contain thousands of micro-pores that retain the inorganic matter while letting through the organic ones, such as minerals. Other filters including most reverse osmosis and water softeners do not conserve these minerals, and many experts recommend remineralising the water afterwards.

The efficiency of the filter has been verified by several EU certified labs including the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). Find the results comparing filtered and unfiltered tap water here.

What are the main advantages of TAPP 1?

These are the 4 main benefits:

  1. TAPP 1 saves money: The average price of a liter of bottled water in many EU countries is around 0.30-0.40 €, as compared to 0.0010-0.0050 € for a litre of tap water in most European cities. On average households spend about €280 per year

  2. TAPP 1 is convenient: Using TAPP 1 means not worrying about buying or storing bottled water anymore. Carrying heavy plastic bottles from the supermarket home will be a thing of the past. Bid farewell to throwing away hundreds of empty plastic bottles every year.

  3. TAPP 1 is eco-friendly: Among all food products in the market, bottled water has one of the worst carbon footprints. From extraction and production to transportation, distribution and disposal, bottled water’s product cycle is unsustainable. With every TAPP 1 cartridge, you avoid over 150 bottles of plastic trash, which would often end up on landfills and in oceans, often in the form of micro-plastics (Find out more about this in this publication by Science Magazine).

  4. TAPP 1 is connected: Register it on mytapp.co or via the free iOS and Android apps and monitor the status of the filter cartridge and know when to change it.

How does the cartridge replacement service work?

When ordering TAPP 1 there are two options:

1) Annual subscription – Sign up for the automatic cartridge replacement service for 60 € / year (equivalent to 5 € / month). Every 12 months you will receive a set of 4 new filter cartridges to your home, guaranteeing an uninterrupted supply with fresh and clean water directly from your tap. No hidden costs, no shipping fees and you can cancel at any time and without complications.

2) Order TAPP 1 refill cartridges for 35 € for a package of two, lasting together around 6 months. Available on tappwater.co, our app and Amazon.

The bottom line

The TAPP 1 water filter is the beginning of a long journey for a healthier and cleaner planet. Our mission is to empower people to easily get clean and healthy water from tap, with a minimum environmental impact.
