TAPP 1 uses granular activated carbon that is very effective in removing at least 70 chemicals and reducing more than 50 other while letting healthy minerals remain in the drinking water. The most important chemicals removed and vastly reduced are:
– Chlorine, which is often the cause of bad odour and taste,
– Bi-product Volatile organic Compounds (VoCs), such as THMs identified as potentially cancerous,
– Heavy metals (lead, copper, etc.),
– Pesticides. TAPP 1 will also reduce, but not remove arsenic, nitrates, chromium and pharmaceuticals.
