Shower Filter FAQs

Why install an anti-limescale, anti-chlorine shower filter?

In many areas, shower water can be high in limescale and contain chlorine, which can affect everyday comfort. An anti-limescale shower filter helps reduce chlorine, limescale and certain impurities, making shower water feel more pleasant—and leaving skin and hair feeling softer. Results can vary depending on your region and water quality.

How can I filter my shower water?

There are two simple options:

  • A shower filter that screws in between the mixer and the hose (or between the hose and the shower head).
  • A filtered shower head with built-in filtration.

In both cases, installation takes just a few minutes with no plumbing work, helping reduce chlorine, limescale and impurities while keeping a comfortable shower experience.

Is a shower filter compatible with my shower head or handset?

In most cases, yes: most setups use a standard G1/2 (1/2”) connection. The filter simply screws onto the shower hose. If your shower has a specific thread or a non-standard setup, you may need an adapter—check the connection type before ordering.

When should I replace a shower filter cartridge?

In general, a cartridge should be replaced about every 6 months (or according to the stated capacity) to maintain effective filtration against chlorine, limescale and impurities. If your water is very hard or usage is high, you may want to replace it sooner. Regular replacement also helps maintain good flow and long-term performance.
