Reverse Osmosis Systems
What is a reverse osmosis system?
A reverse osmosis system is one of the most advanced ways to enjoy high-quality water at home — without complex installation or plumbing work. Using a semi-permeable membrane, it reduces a wide range of contaminants (chlorine, heavy metals, microplastics, PFAS…).
At Tappwater we've designed a next-generation reverse osmosis system that goes further: it remineralises the water after filtration for better taste and balance. Our solution, the Countertop RO SMR™, is a 7-stage, plug & play unit — cleaner, great-tasting water every day, with no drilling and no plumber.
Our solution: the Countertop RO SMR
A convenient, high-end option that purifies water by reverse osmosis with advanced 7-stage filtration technology. Remineralises water with Swedish Mineral Rock™, removing over 200 contaminants such as chlorine, heavy metals, bacteria and PFAS. Provides instant hot or room temperature purified water. Includes a purified water jug, perfect for the fridge.
From $ 499,00
Did you know that not all purified water contains the essential minerals your body needs?
The Countertop RO SMR™ not only reduces up to 99% of a wide range of contaminants thanks to its reverse osmosis technology, it also remineralises water with Swedish Mineral Rock™, enhancing taste and balance.
Unlike standard purified water, this system helps maintain a more pleasant and natural flavour profile, making it ideal for everyday use. At the same time, it offers a more sustainable alternative by reducing the need for bottled water at home.

How to set up your reverse osmosis system
No installation required. Ready in minutes.
- Insert the filter cartridge (if not already installed).
- Rinse and fill the back water tank. Do not exceed the maximum fill line.
- Plug in the unit — the initial flushing process will start automatically.
- When the tank reaches around 50%, empty and refill it once more.
- When the indicator light turns blue, place a 1.2L jug and press the dispense button.
- Repeat the process until the system reaches 100% (approx. 20 minutes).
Once the blue light is on, your system is ready — enjoy clean, great-tasting water.
Frequently asked questions about reverse osmosis
What is a reverse osmosis system?
A reverse osmosis (RO) system is an advanced filtration technology that uses a semi-permeable membrane to remove very small contaminants — down to 0.0001 microns, including dissolved solids, heavy metals, microplastics and PFAS — for highly purified water. The Countertop RO SMR™ does all this as a countertop unit with no installation.
Does reverse osmosis also remove minerals from the water?
standard RO system removes contaminants but also natural minerals such as calcium and magnesium, giving very pure but flatter-tasting water. This is exactly where the Countertop RO SMR™ is different: its Swedish Mineral Rock™ technology remineralises the water after filtration, adding calcium and magnesium back for a balanced, great taste.
What is the difference between a water filter and a reverse osmosis system?
A water filter (activated carbon, like our tap filters) improves taste and reduces common contaminants — chlorine, lead, microplastics — while keeping minerals. Reverse osmosis goes further, removing a much wider range of impurities including dissolved salts. The Countertop RO SMR™ combines both: the deep purification of RO plus remineralisation, with no installation.
What does the Countertop RO SMR™ remove?
Its 7-stage filtration reduces over 100 contaminants (up to 99%): chlorine, heavy metals, bacteria, microplastics, PFAS and nitrates, while remineralising the water. Ideal where tap water is hard, chlorinated or of uncertain quality.
Does reverse osmosis produce waste water?
Like any RO system, some water is used to flush the contaminants trapped by the membrane. The Countertop RO SMR™ is built for efficient home use and being a countertop unit you can easily reuse the flush water for plants or cleaning.
Is remineralised RO water good for you?
Yes. RO water is very pure but demineralised; the Countertop RO SMR™ adds the essential minerals back (calcium, magnesium) via Swedish Mineral Rock™, so the water is both purified and mineral-balanced — and tastes better than standard RO water.
How much water does it make and how fast?
It delivers purified water instantly, hot or at room temperature, and includes a 1.2 L jug for the fridge.
