From pencil to tree
Although it is known to everyone that pencils are made mainly of wood, we can understand that the amount of wood, and consequently, trees dedicated solely to the production of pencils, is many, perhaps uncountable. So if we give every pencil a chance to re-flower like another tree, aren't we doing something great? A pencil with a seed that once spent we can get it to create another tree, where we also win because, doesn't a tree have enough wood for many pencils? Well, an entire tree would be created from a pencil with a seed. If there is a good example of what the word 'ecology' means, it is this one.Sprout is a start-up that was born with the idea of generating and creating ecological products of value for its customers that currently sells in more than 60 countries. The company was very successful since its inception and its potential is yet to be discovered but they currently sell a good variety of different types of replantable pencils. Its founders, who were three MIT students, before developing the seed pencil, asked themselves how the three of them could create and design the first useful and sustainable office item, and from there they came up with the Sprout project. The first pencil with a seed inside was sold in 2013 and since then bloggers, press, organizations and businesses have contacted them and their demand and notoriety has increased throughout the world.
